About Gudi Padwa
Gudi Padwa marks Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, the first day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar and the beginning of the Marathi New Year. The festival symbolizes new beginnings, prosperity, and the arrival of spring, and families traditionally raise a decorated Gudi (victory flag) outside their homes to welcome good fortune.
