Marathi Shala (Marathi School) is the initiative started by MMTB to promote the Marathi language among the young generation. This school is open to all youth who are currently in school and membership of MMTB is not required. Non-members of MMTB are required to pay supplies and activities cost. If you are interested in registering your child in the Marathi Shala please see the information below:
Please note that the cost for non-members of MMTB will be $60 per semester.

इयत्ता पहिली अभ्यासक्रम : 0-50 points(figures), Complete alphabet, 12 vowels, Using vowel symbols for consonants, Use of nouns, pronouns, verbs, punctuation, How are sentances formed, Will learn time and how to tell a clock, Will learn body parts, Will learn family relations and names, The original seven colors and identifying colors
इयत्ता दुसरी अभ्यासक्रम: 1 - 100 digits, Math language assessment, Complete alphabet, barakhadi, Even odd syllables, Syntax -making sentences using commas and punctuation marks, Using nouns in sentences, Pronouns, singular/plural words, months/days/years, animals, animal body parts, close relative names, savva & sade, various tastes, Various activities & names for those activities, weather, names for different bodies of water, Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Ganesh Utsav, Writing sentences pf 5-8 words, describing objects in pictures ( adjectives), 3-5 sentences translating marathi-english and english-marathi, translations of 2 prayers and 2 verses, paraphrase 3 poems, recite 3-5 songs, west coast/main hills of maharashtra, meaning of stories and songs.
इयत्ता तिसरी अभ्यासक्रम: Numerical figures, vocab related to measurement, conjunctions to be taught in full, collective words, writing and combining 2 statements or sentences, generalization, suffixes to pronouns, 4 types of recitations, gender, respectful plural words, size, chronology - seasons and months, direction, relatives, forms of water, land - related words, maharashtra, stories and parables, personal introductions, writing 4-5 sentences given by the teacher, show & describe pictures, 2-3 simple syllables, 5 sentences containing translations, 3-5 simple sentences, translation of 3 poems, Able to pronounce words clearly, read sentences without stumbling, understanding the meaning of the story by listening to the story/passage.
इयत्ता चौथी अभ्यासक्रम: 1-10,000 in digits, compound words, adverbs, exclamatory words, past/present/future, antonyms, solar system, marathi food, water cycle, means of transportation, third person introductions, festivals (makar sankrant, holi, gokulashtami), writing a short paragraph of 6-8 sentences, a description of what is in the picture series, short dialogue with 4-6 syllables, write a news day by looking at a picture or other text of the incident, communication between 2-3 people, translation of 2 prayers and 2 verses, paraphrase 3 poems, see if you understand the story's characters/main events/locations/etc, able to pronounce words clearly & read sentences without stumbling
इयत्ता पाचवी अभ्यासक्रम: Identifying and writing numerals, writing numbers in words, synonyms and antonyms, inflectional words with all kinds of suffixes, a word to a group of words, all kinds of punctuation marks, pollution, natural disasters, safety rules, 8-10 sentences with 5-6 syllables including grammar/should be 2-3 paragraphs with spelling and punctuation, 5-6 sentences with 4-6 syllables of dialogue, letter by email/invitation letter/request/inquiry letter, write 10-15 sentences on a given topic, translation of 2 prayers and 2 verses, interpretation and translation - 3 poems, democracy/indian sports/indian art
